Anyone out there using Allegro Law Debt Management Services? I recently got all my debt together and got a consolidation threw Allegro Law. I have not yet made my first payment, due the 17th, and was wondering if anyone else has used them? Anything good or bad been said about them? Any info would be great.
are debt management services safe to use? me and my partner have got into quite a bit of unsecured debt. i called a debt management service and have the paperwork infront of me. theres something niggling at the back of my head though. are these schemes safe and beneficial? has any one ever used them that could give me a bit of information? also - will it stop me going for another mortgage??
Has anyone ever used a debt management service? How did it affect your credit rating? Would you reccommend it? I want to eliminate the rest of my credit card debt. I see the ads for debt management services where they work with your creditors to reduce your interest rates, then combine all of your debt together, where you pay them one payment per month. My husband thinks this will reflect negativly on our credit report. Has anyone ever done this, and were you succesful in eliminating debt? Did it affect your credit rating in a nigative manner? I think that most people in America today, have alot of consumer debt, but I see many poeple who aren't worried about it, and only pay the monthly minimums each month. I have been there before, but I am ready to pay it all off. What do you think? I would love to hear from anyone who has used these services before, or any other great idea to pay it all off, without taking out any more loans. Thanks!
Can you keep your credit card accounts open after using a debt management service? Just wondering if anyone has used a debt management service and knows if this is possible. I know they set them to automatically close when they are finished, but does anyone know if you can contact the credit card company and ask them to leave it open once it is paid off? The reason I ask is because I know it is better for your credit score to have accounts that are a few years old open, with available credit, rather than closing them when they are paid off.
Global Credit Card / Debt Management Service - Companies Doing Fraud? I am constantly being called by two companies, Global Credit Card and Debt Management Service, these two companies constantly ring me and offer me Credit Cards solutions to help me get out of debt. Now when I wish to enquire about the company, such as the name of the person that I am speaking to, where they are based, a website, a contact telephone number I am told that they do not need to give me that information. Now I don’t know about you guys if you are getting the same kind of nuisance as me but I really want to get these guys caught. Last time I was sucked in, I was offered a pre approved £4000 credit card, when with my credit history I can’t even get a £1000 credit card. So I ask them how can they approve me already, how do they know my details on how they can approve me, I get the response that I am chosen from a selected few to receive this 5 year anniversary offer. Okay so basically I was told that with £2 I can have the pack sent out to me, so I thought why not see what they can offer me, soon as I gave them my details I had £12 taken out of my account. Now the only bit of information that I was given about the company is that they’re on Cleveland Road in London I wouldn’t take that information 100% accurate. They also interrogate you to pay a monthly fee to charity where the person will tell you that you don’t have to contribute, I didn’t want to contribute but this conversation went on for about 20 minutes on the phone as to why I don’t want to pay them and all I got was the vibe that I’m not going anywhere until you pay us the amount. If you refuse to speak to them once, they will ring you back. If you offered them your details and they took extra money out and you can’t do nothing about it well they will ring you back under a different company name. Global Credit Card & Debt Management Services are FRAUD companies. I repeat they are companies who are doing fraud. Do not give them any information, slowly, slowly they will build up the details of your home, email, work history. With this information they can do anything. Immediately if you think you have been effected change your card, call the report it missing or stolen line at the back of the card and check your statements. If anything the name of the company will appear on your statement under this name CALLEMATICS LTD. The address for the company is CALLEMATICS LIMITED, 74 Cleveland Street, LONDON, W1T 6NA. But I fear this will only be the name of the company which provides its call centre information If you have any experiences with this company, please state here.
Do I have too much debt for a debt management plan? Right now my monthly payments on all my bills total more than what I earn and bring home each month. I make ends meet with my payments usually being late, etc. I have an appointment in a couple weeks to go talk to someone at Consumer Credit Counseling Services about a debt management plan. Does anyone know if they will even be able to help me since my payments are more than my salary? Bankruptcy is not something I'm willing to consider because I work at a bank and would probably lose my job.
What is debt management plan? Do you recommend using credit counseling services? Advantages? Disadvantages? I just want to know if anybody here has gone through credit counseling services and if it worked for you.
How to pay off credit cards enrolled in a debt management program? I have been in a debt management program with a local credit counseling service for about 8 months. My parents have offered to co-sign a loan so I can pay off the cards. The loan with the bank is a lower interest rate than the cards and will pay them off faster with a lower payment each month. Should I pay the cards directly or go through the credit counseling service? Which is better for my credit score?
What is a good organisation to help me with Debt management/consolidation? There are many sites on the web, but most of them charge monthly fees and setup costs. I need help managing my credit, developing a budget and getting out of debt. Are there any good companies or non-profit organisations that provide these services?
Debt Management Programme.....was referred to Payplan, a free service who advise people on? how to solve their debts. At the moment, i pay back over £600 a month to my creditors, owe in total £30.000, i have opted for the debt management programme as i wish to pay all the money back, the company (which is completely free) worked out i can afford roughly £270 a month, which i would be able to afford. How likely is it that my creditors will agree to this? Seeing as they will get all their money back, albeit it over 9 years. Just want to know if they are likely to refuse or regect my offer? Thanks. for example creditors like Lloyds and Sainsburys Bank and Virgin. Hasn't gone to debt collectors and have never missed nor been late with a payment, am just finding the rest of the month sooo hard once i've made all these payments.
Payday and quick cash loans with the Military? How much impact do you think it will have when the law changes? Effective 1 October 2007 active members of the Military can no longer use "payday" or "quick cash" loan services outside the military bases. Do you think this is going to have a fallout period and a major increase in debt management services for service members by agencies within the military
Where can you find a reputable debt management company? Below is an answer to a debt question I asked. Im 70K in CC debt. You hear so many stories about these companies that say they settle debts and stories of how they really can’t do anything but just take your money. Does anybody know how to ferret out a reputable company that really does that service? What I would recommend would be to talk to an accountant or get some information from a company who can help settle debt for a lower cost. If you do that and they project that you can settle your debt for say 15-25k,

For sale / purchase, automatic allocation be done for various clients, compute gains (both short and long term), portfolio valuation, sectoral classification (preferred) and excel sheet friendly
Why do so many people use private companies in debt management, where they pay for it? While the same service is free with several voluntary debt councils ,agencies.
Anyone used Greenpath Debt Solutions? Has anyone ever used the debt management service Greenpath Debt solutions? Do you feel they were helpful in fixing your debt & credit issues?
I need to get out of debt, any ideas? Hey I got myself into a lot of debt back in 2007 and I am struggling to pay it off, I owe £14000 to 8 different companies, I have certainly learnt my lesson and would love to be able to buy a house etc in future, does anyone know if IVAs and Debt Management services can help? Someone told me that if I entered into an IVA I wouldnt be able to get credit again for at least 10 years. Also does anyone know any companies in Scotland which could help? I am working full time, earning £14000 per year, I no longer have credit cards or active overdrafts and will never touch either again...
Debt collection agency (Capital Management) refuses to stop calling me. What can I do? This horrible company called "Capital Management Services, L.P." [http://www.cms-collect.com/] continually calls and tells me that I owe them some debt. It's incorrect and I tell them that. They are very, very rude. So about 6 months ago I told them to stop calling me. But they keep calling. Different people (all with strong Indian accents, yet amazingly American names like Sally and Bob) call each time. I always say, "I told you to stop calling me..." and they reply with some garbage like "I have never called you before. What is your name? You need to give me your name right now. Give me your name". Obviously I refuse, and they say more rude comments and hang up. I have no luck when calling them and their phone is routed nowhere. The company appears to be in NY, USA! How is this legal?? My question is, how can I get this to stop permanently? I've seen many other reports too. I want to take action and get this stopped ASAP and hopefully get them in trouble as they deserve. As someone mentioned, they have put some of those bogus debts on my credit report and haven't been able to get it removed (haven't tried too much, but I don't really know where to start). The other problem I'm finding out is that with a fully-US based company, the employees must follow US guidelines and laws. But even though this company is based in the US, they obviously outsource all of their callcenter to India, which from every person I've talked to there has blatantly pushed in my face - they could care less about giving a real name, info, politeness, etc; as there's really nothing we can do. I'm sure by law the company has to at least fake-log the calls, but judging from their attitudes (again, all fake names, how on earth do you track anything down?), they aren't worried even a tiny bit of any repercussions. They talk like they have a free ticket, which I am starting to realize, they almost do being out of the US. I'm really stuck :( And one last note: I had this problem with another collector a while back and did send the a cease and desist letter via certified mail. I got the return receipt and everything. They kept calling. When I called and finally got through to some type of supervisor (who knows if it even was), they kept saying they never received it. When I said I have the receipt they put me on hold for like 20 minutes. Finally he came back and said they received an envelope from me that was empty, no letter was inside and they would keep calling me. So even with a certified cease and desist letter, how do you "prove" that you really sent the letter inside of the envelope?? This is ridiculous, such loopholes. I can't take my letter to the post office and have someone watch me put the letter in the envelope and send it off, and have the mail person vow to come to court or something like that obviously. So how do you do this and take any and every loophole-joke out of the process?
Recommendations for Debt Management Companies? I've done SOME research but I'm still unsure.. I've visited with one company...you completely stop making payments to your creditors. After 3 months, they(credit counselors) step in working with the creditors to lower your payments and interest rate. BUT, you have to stop paying them for 3 months in order to "build a case." I don't want to hurt my already dying credit rate. Are there any other type of credit counseling services that DON'T require you to hurt your already damaged credit? I'm not behind on any payments yet. I'm still paying the minimum if not more every month before the due date. I'm just trying to find something where I can have my payments all lumped into one large sum...and instead of trying to divvy it out amongst the different credit card companies...have it done for me. (oh...and of course lower the interest rates)
Credit Card Debt? I have some credit card debt from two cards and they have both been closed and turned to collections. I would like to put all the debt and make a payment plan or even make a payment plan with the individual companies so I can clean up my credit. How can I do that? And has anyone ever had a similar experience? And would it be better to contact the collection agencies themselves to make a payment plan or should I use Consumer Credit Counseling Services Debt Management Plan? I owe about 3,000 between two credit cards but I am a college student with limited income?
I need the names of some trustworthy companies that offer Debt Management Plans? I will not qualify for government grants. I cannot get another consolidation loan. I do not want to use a debt negotiation service. My credit is good right now. I have paid all my bills at or above the minimum on time for over 7 years, and any blips on my credit have just recently "dropped off" my credit report. However, I am struggling, and things are about to get worse for me, and very soon I will start to be in the negative. I need help that won't ruin my credit score I have worked so hard to repair. If you have used a Debt Management Program and did not have to pay any additional fees, nor make any payments until all of your creditors accepted you into the program, please pass the name along to me.
In the UK, , apart from the citizens advice service , what is the best, free debt management company? I am in debt and recently had the citizens advice write to some of my debtors. After income and expenditure assesments they were only in a position to offer all 8 debtors £1 a month each. As expected, they all (but 1 ) wrote back refusing the offer. I then get a letter from citizens advice saying that the case was now closed ? Apart from being very difficult to reach on the phone,, appointments 3 or 4 weeks apart and not enough communication ,i have completly lost faith in them and dont want to go back and have the case re opened and am looking at some alternative to help me. I have spoken to " debt free direct " but they charge for the service ( 15% of total debt or min £25 a month ) which is not what i want. I have 2 companys chasing me with letters saying they are are going to persue me for bancrupty. Things are not good and i fear i only have a matter of weeks before it all comes to a head and i lose my house in a bancruptcy. I need to speak to someone in the debt management industry as soon as possible so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
Unhappy with a debt management company? I recently signed up with a debt management company but i am very unhappy with their service. If anything they just made things worse. Is there anyone i can report them to
If my company credit card goes to collection can I use a debt consolidation service to pay it off? I ended up using my company credit card for personal use while on medical leave. I was not able to pay it off completely right away and it was sent to a collection agency. I have a very nasty debt collector calling me all the time now (which is to be expected) but her story seems to change so I'm not sure if she's being honest or using scare tactics. I contacted a debt management program and am working on paying off the debt over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, this woman keeps calling me and now she's apparently (according to her latest voice-mail) set up a conference call with my corp office tomorrow. I'm just wondering if there's some reason using a lump sum settlement won't work on a corporate card?
debt managment companies? Im in debt if i approach a debt management service how will this affect my credit file in the future. Does it mean I will never be able to have a mortgage? Will this plague me for the rest of my life?
Should I choose a debt management plan or bankruptcy? I live in England.? Apart from humiliation and a 6 yr freeze on my credit rating which basically is shot to shit anyway, what else do I have to loose? My debts are about £12,000, but to me they may as well be £1,000,000. Because I was unable to work for 3 yrs and on incapacity benefits, a few credit card balances spiraled out of control ,due to lack of understanding and inability to cope at the time. I've managed to claw my way out of he unemployability trap and I'm back at work but my pay is'nt what it used to be and it will take time, confidence and training (paid by me!) to get on top of thigs. Im a lone single girl so life, especially rent is expensive. I started a debt management plan with 'Consumer Credit Counselling Service' when I was unemployed cause I was determined 2 take responsibility. They've been very supportive but I feel its taking its toll , as I can't afford things like a secure place to live, further training, driving lesssons, or holidays etc..and I have another 7yrs to go..
thinking about debt management? i have some debt that i am struggling to pay and i am thinking about using debt management to help me. i have tried looking at the company's that provide this service but there are so many i don't know who to go with.
Debt Management Plans? If you enter into a debt management plan with a consumer credit counseling service what are the chances it will keep you from getting a mortgage or auto loan in the near future? Also, will the debt management plan prohibit you from applying for new credit?
dfh debt management/ help getting a mortgage? getting a mortgage while in debt management, do i have to tell mortgage adviser, was told when i took service out it didn't affect credit rate and didn't affect getting a mortgage, also i didn't have to tell any1. is it best to pay off debts and come out of plan, would this improve credit rate?
Debt management advice/programs? (preferably free)? I am under debt management and have been since the beginning of the year. I am 23 years old and have £10k of credit card/overdraft/personal loan debt. I took out the debt management plan with payment protection insurance (PPI) but the company lost one of my payments and by the time they found it the insurance policy had been cancelled. The policy would have covered me in case of being made redundant, which I have been. I am now homeless, living back at my parents for a while, and have no means to pay the debt management company the monthly payment of £87.50, inc. PPI. If the policy was still valid I would only have to pay £7.50 per month, but this isn't possible. Also, the monthly payment includes a fee for the service, but this just adds debt to debt. I shouldn't have gotten into debt in the first place, but I really don't know what to do. Can I easily switch plans, preferably to one where I don't have to pay a fee of any kind? Also one where I can make very low payments to start off with, as my only source of income at the moment is JSA.
Debt Management Mistake? HI, I was wondering if you can help. I have a very poor credit score. Basically I got myself into a financial mess around 2 years ago and had to contact a debt management company. i am now on a debt management plan. At the time i wasn't on a good salary and had nowhere else to turn. However I am now earning double what i earned then and don't feel debt managment is the right way to go for me now as it is not improving my credit rating. I have never missed a payment with the Debt Management Company. They charge me £40.00 per month for using there service. I have 3 years left of the plan but i would prefer to clear my debtors by consolidating meaning my credit would be improved quicker. Does anyone have any advice if this is even possible to do?
Debt Management with Novadebt or Chapter 13 Bankruptcy? I have $90,000 in unsecured credit and have reached a point where I must either file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy (I don't qualify for Chapter 7) or work with a Debt Management Company. Either way, I will have to pay 100% of debts, but both seem to give me the same benefit of freezing my interest rates and allow my to pay the debt in 5 years. If NovaDebt is telling me the whole truth (haven't seen a contract yet) then they will be able to save my credit rating. Does anyone know if this is really true? If not, then I feel safer filing for bankruptcy because that is where I would end up if I couldn't meet the NovaDebt payments for some reason. I saw a antoher post that said my Credit Report will show I am in a Debt Management Program, but that would be removed once the plan is complete. All my searches on the internet seem to indicate that NovaDebt is legitimate; does anyone have info on the contrary? As far as monthly payments go it apprears that my NovaDebt payment will be about $200 more a month than bankrupcty payments. I am not too concerned about the extra $200 a month, but just want to make sure I am starting in the right direction if I will be paying more. As far as fees; NovaDebt says they charge $50 a month for this service - in the end that is actually $500 less than filing for Bankruptcy. Any experiences, thoughts, or ideas are very welcome. I need to make a decision this weekend - yikes!
Does a person with multiple written-off accounts...? Qualify for debt management services? Or is their only option to go through the collection agencies? What would be the best option in this situation?
Can anyone recommend a debt management company.I'm with Gregory Pennington at the moment. Is anyone else with Gregory Pennington on a debt management programme? Are they any good do you think.Trouble is G.P. charge fees.Theres so many debt management companys out there, such as Chilterns,Baines &Ernst, and many others,so it's confusing. One company I wouldnt recommend is Churchwood, they were terrible.Poor customer service. They were'nt helpful at all,so I changed to Gregory Pennington a few months back.Is anyone out there also with Gregory Pennington for a debt management plan,as I'd like to know what you think of them?Does anyone recommend anyone else?Is anyone doing debt management with The Citizens Advice Bureau or C.C.C.S. and can recommend either of them?Any advice please,as i've 17 creditors to pay off and its going to take ten years or more to clear yet, unless i ever won a large amount of money or had any inheritance left me
tax deduction for services paid but never received? i paid a debt management company 892.00 but never received services. can i claim this as a loss
Is there a such thing as "canceling" your credit card debt? Just yesterday I received an unsolicited email about a a credit card debt cancellation service called DebtClear. Coincidentally, I'm now looking to get out of debt so it's peaked my interest. However, I want to be careful. The program (called Court Mediation Services) explains how it can legally eliminate your debt (usually in several months) and get your credit re-established. Supposedly their organization is a team comprised of debt management specialist and debt attorneys... It sounds good but I have some suspicions. I filled out a simple opt-in form and they sent me to this url: http://www.debtclear.com/programs/5877587?nid=74923. I want to know if anyone has heard of this organization before or what kind of results they had with it. Anybody have any info on this?? Thank you kindly to all who can offer some help...
What's a great name for my new business? I'm launching my own Financial Services company. I've worked in Financial Services for many years, and I'm sick with how dirty and dishonest my bosses are. So, I'm venturing out on my own. In the company name, I want to speak to honesty, integrity and commitment to customer service. We offer debt management services for those you can't pay their bills. We offer credit management services for those who can pay their bills now, but haven't always done so in the past and thus have derogatory accounts on their credit reports. I can make those go away. We offer capital management services, helping people with good credit get capital to fund business and investment opportunities. We offer capital growth and cash flow investments that outperform credit unions, banks and savings and loans. I was thinking... Family Values Financial Services... but somebody said it sounding like I had some right-wing conservative Christian movement in mind. I though about... Eagles Flight Financial Services... but I'm not completely sold on that either. So, here's your chance to be part of history...help me name my new company...hopefully it will be a household word in a couple of years. Thanks for all your constructive help.
Is it worth using a Debt Management company that charges ? for the service? I have contacted CCCS, the main free service, but they cannot deal with my case for over a month. In the meantime, I've been contacted by a very plausible rep who has been above board about everything, but they charge a hefty proportion of the repayment scheme, which if accepted by creditors will last for 80 years at the current rate! The actual cost is not high, especially if it really keeps the creditors at bay whilst I get on with my life and trying to earn my keep, but clearly, over many years (not that I'll last another 80) it will come to a sizable amount. There is also a set-up cost. Any experience or ideas before I finally commit? Thanks guys - looks like sensible advice - and sorry to ITS ME AGAIN, I should have mentioned that I am in the UK rather than the US.
Most of the Credit Counseling & Debt Management a rip-off? I have gone through the Credit Counseling route before and after a year of payments to them, found out that they were not paying all my creditors. Ended up dropping them and continuing most on my own. They had a term the CC companies used (re-up or re-new, re-age?) that I asked the CC companies for and they continued as though I was using the couseling service. I can't remember but if you go through them (credit counseling agencies) will it affect your credit and/or score? Can I still use the "re-aging" of the credit card myself so as not to hurt my credit rating? The company I used was Consumer Credit Counseling and even though I did pay off a huge chunk of debt, they still screwed me over on a few CC's that they missed paying.

Help, Credit experts! What do you do with THIS real case? The person who came to me for help: $40K income, healthy, in debt US$140K (yes, one hundred forty thousand dollars) ($60K student loans in forbearance, $7K auto loan, the rest unsecured debt: $50K is maxed out credit card debt, mostly at default 30+% rates and the rest is loans from friends. About $1K in tax liability.). Some debts are freshly (30 - 60 days) delinquent, but none has gone to collections yet. No previous BK, charge-offs, collections or judgments. All 3 Credit reports have no serious errors, FICO scores unknown. Person is motivated, has already shown me recent credit reports and bills, cut up credit cards, developed detailed list of assets (car + $3K in illiquid assets + $1K cash) and liabilities, and is writing a monthly budget. What do you advise? Is the Consumer Credit Counseling Service Debt Management Program the best solution? What are your successes or failures with the CCCS DMP? Costs and benefits? Please answer the questions I've asked. Thanks.
Help Anyone!? Can anyone recommend a Debt Management Service that anyone used, and how was it?
Ok I am a bit confused, why does my debt appear to have 4 owners? I got a letter from Receivables Performance Management who says their client is Resurgent Capital Services that says they represent LVNV Funding LLC, and they say they represent GE Capital. Why would this alleged debt go through so many different companies? Do they usually put all of these on the credit report as well?
Can you contest a debt thats listed on your credit? My husband has some thing on his credit from a former apartment building where he broke the lease due to the management company severly not doing their job (they didnt take care of noisy neighbors, didnt make repairs or provide much needed pest control). We've even reported the apartment complexs to the Apartment Association, but im not sure if he can contest their outragegous charges. He also has a debt from a cell phone company & an insurance company trying to charge him for service after he asked them to turn the service off (no, they're not cancellation fees either). Can he contest any of these? And if so, how do you go about doing that? Do we need to hire an attorney? Ok, if your going to answer my question, please refrain from being a total jackass in the process. I have done my research on my states laws involving tenants rights and you can break a lease and file a complaint against the complex on the grounds that management did not properly look out for your comfort & security. My husbands car was broken into & damaged while living there & he was even exposed to mold spores because management didnt properly fix his a/c. The management company did not do their job, plain and simple. My QUESTION is can we contest the debt that is now on his credit. I didnt ask for your opinion of my husband, I asked for an answer. P.S. Thank you to those who actually answered the question in a civil manner. :)
The Following is an excerpt Lucent Technologies Management? The following is a excerpt from Lucent Technologies Management? Executive Summary We design and deliver the systems, software and services that drive next-generation communications networks. Backed by Bell Labs research and development, we use our strengths in mobility, optical, access, data and voice networking technologies, as well as services, to create new revenue-generating opportunities for our customers, while enabling them to quickly deploy and better manage their networks. Our customer base includes communications service providers, governments and enterprises worldwide. We have three segments organized around the products and services we sell. The reportable segments are Integrated Network Solutions (“INS”), Mobility Solutions (“Mobility”) and Lucent Worldwide Services (“Services”). INS provides a broad range of software and wireline equipment related to voice networking (primarily consisting of switching products, which we sometimes refer to as convergence solutions, and voice messaging products), data and network management (primarily consisting of access and related data networking equipment and operating support software) and optical networking. Mobility provides software and wireless equipment to support radio access and core networks. Services provides deployment, maintenance, professional and managed services in support of both our product offerings as well as multi-vendor networks. Beginning in fiscal 2001, the global telecommunications market deteriorated, resulting from a decrease in the competitive local exchange carrier market and a significant reduction in capital spending by established service providers. This trend intensified during fiscal 2002 and continued into fiscal 2003. Reasons for the market deterioration included general economic slowdown, network overcapacity, customer bankruptcies, network build-out delays and limited availability of capital. We believe that the market for telecommunications equipment has stabilized and is starting to grow in certain areas. The growing demands of enterprises and consumers for additional services tailored to their needs is creating the need for a new convergence of networks, technologies and applications. Required 1. Using the Consolidated Balance Sheets for Lucent Technologies for September 30, 2004 and 2003, prepare a common-size balance sheet. 2. Evaluate the asset, debt, and equity structure of Lucent Technologies, as well as trends and changes found on the common-size balance sheet. 3. What concerns would investors and creditors have based on only this information? 4. What additional financial and nonfinancial information would investors and creditors need to make investing and lending decisions for Lucent Technologies?

How to pay off credit cards enrolled in a debt management program? I have been in a debt management program with a local credit counseling service for about 8 months. My parents have offered to co-sign a loan so I can pay off the cards. The loan with the bank is a lower interest rate than the cards and will pay them off faster with a lower payment each month. Should I pay the cards directly or go through the credit counseling service? Which is better for my credit score?
Credit Counselling Service for good credit high balances? My credit scores are good, I have no late payments or collection accounts. But my credit card balances are getting up there. The interest is high, what are the affects on my credit reports if I become a client of one of those "credit counselling / debt management organizations"? Will my credit scores go down by doing this? I understand these services can reduce my interest rates and consolidate my debts into one monthly payment, good or no?

Debt collection? My nephew bought a computer from Dell and used my mother for a reference. My mother was called and interviewed. She is elderly and does not remember all the details of the conversation. My nephew did not make payments. Dell has sold the account to Oxford Management services. OMS is now calling my mother demanding payment. She was told that they can freeze her savings account in order to collect the debt. She did not co-sign and no personal information was given to the company except for phone number and address. Is this legal? What are her options?

How can I stop a debt company calling me...? I am currently on a debt management plan and a while ago I contacted a different debt management company called "Baines and Ernest" to see what they had to offer. After investigating into their service in more detail I decided not to switch and stay with my current debt company. I told Baines and Ernest four times that I did not wish to proceed with their services but they still kept contacting over the phone and in writing. I have now told them 4 times over the phone and in writing to please stop contacting me and that I was not interested and to today - you guessed it they called me again!! I am very really p*ssed of with these people and its now border line harassment!! Is there any legal term I can use over the phone to scare them off??
How can I force BT to disconnect both my internet & landline services as i'm still in a contract till next feb I've not been able to afford to keep on top of my bills as i'm disabled & on income support,& also have a lot of debt, which i'm on a debt management programme for.I've phoned BT several days ago, said i wish to have my services disconnected straight away & buy myself out the contract & to send in my final bill,& that i'd have to put the bill on my DM programme as i cant afford to pay it in one go.Several days later i find they've barred my phone to calls, but its obviously still on 'cause my internet is still on.They've just took me off option 3 broadband & put me on BT Openzone Pay As You Go,and barred my phone to calls. What are they playing at?I've sent BT several e-mails asking them to please completely disconnect both our services as i'm in no position to keep it,but our internet is still working, they've not disconnected us,& pay as you go will be more expensive as my son uses the internet 18 hours a day. What canI do to make them disconnect us,we dont want the services left on.
What is your experience with Freedom Financial Management? We have a large amount of credit card debt and are considering debt negotiation through Freedom Financial. They say that we can pay off our debt in three years time and that while our credit rating will initially be affected, by the time the debt is paid, the negative rating will be mitigated. Has anyone used this service (or a similar one)?

I am in the army as a finance soldier? I have been in for 5 years now if I don't reup again it will bring me to a total of 8 years or so. I want to get out, I tried this last time but I couldn't find anything. Like my skills and the civilian world are 2 COMPLETELY different worlds. So my question is what job should I be able to get if I get out and use my army finance background? I have done debt management, customer service, cashier (in iraq), processing which is taking in documents from units and coding them on our computer system (fixing pay). We have sections like budget, and accounting but we are not doing that quite yet those are civilian jobs. But with what I go now is there something that I should have been able to get when I was attempting before? No bank cashiering or customer service over a phone for some company. I'm talking like 13.00 an hour, well that was for kentucky pay, kind of cheap living there.
Does anyone have any experience of using the service, Payplan? I'm looking for a debt management company and I came across Payplan. I would like to hear of others experiences with this company, good and bad. Thanks everyone.
