What are the democratic party's solutions to resolve national debt?

In need of help for a project and having trouble with research

Public Comments

  1. Cut wasteful spending and repeal Bush tax cuts.
  2. One word: TAXES
  3. Well...Pelosi plans on jacking private money via 401k. Then they will raise EVERYONE's taxes.
  4. Basicly, the Democratic outline has always been: Tax the rich at a slightly higher rate and repeal their tax cuts and loopholes so that the middle class can be alleviated of the burden... Also, waste must be cut as well... And by employing Americans in our Military affairs instead of paying higher $ to outsource our military functions, we keep more money in the USA as well... Cutting out-sourcing should be a top concern. To find out Obama's plans specifically, here is the link: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/economy/
  5. We are $10.6 trillion in debt. ANY recovery from that will take decades. Estimates are that we have so far spent about $12 billion a MONTH on the Iraq war. That alone will make a dent.
  6. Order the U.S. Mints to print Mo Money ASAP.
  7. this is such a hugh mess no one really knows they are hitting thing from all sides in the hopes that something will stick
  8. There is no serious answer to this question, we are in such deep water that all anyone can do is hang on. We need to understand that there is no solution except time. The mess we are in isn't some easy fix deal with someone coming up with the 'right' party line. Starting with the idea that the fundamentals are very, very bad. Then going on to the idea that trickle down means f*cked up. Then continuing to the idea that the rich do not share unless we make them. Not things that Republicans take to, and ideas that will not be sittling well with the majority of the Democratic party either. Almost everyone in politics today is a millionaire.
  9. The reason you can't find the answer through research is because they don't have any solutions. Barney Frank made it abundantly clear that now is the time to spend, ignore the deficit and add more social programs because there are plenty of rich people to tax for it all later on. Maybe that IS their solution. Unfortunately, economics don't work like that.
  10. Increase taxes and confiscate (steal) the retirement funds people have accumulated outside of the blessings of the federal government. Actually, they have no intention of resolving any of the debt. They never did and never will.
  11. i saw on Fox News a few minutes ago that their heads were about to x-plode because someone suggested a bailout for Credit Card users~! Socialism, Socialism~! they were screaming at the top of their lungs~! why not all away across the board, instead of the top tier who were bailed out for leaving us dry, they were made even richer~?!!!
  12. The Democrats do not have one. Obama even admits the deficit will increase under him. The only way to do it is to cut government spending and that is something do Democrat will do. Last year the interest on the debt was 415 billion dollars. That is over 4 thousand dollars in taxes for a family of 4. Join us in fighting wasteful and unnecessary spending. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/saveourcountrynow/
