Oak View Law -or- Langhorne Debt Solutions which company is better??
So here it is,I got into some payday loan debt upward $3000 and I realize this is something I can't get out of by myself. I have talked with two companies about payday loan debt consolidation and am Unsure which one is the better choice 1- Langhorne Debt Solutions - I would initially pay $389 for the first months payment and $100 (enrollment fee $29.99 after). they won't start my case until this is paid, and then a continue draft of $289 would be debited out of my account to be put toward my debt owed . 12 mth payback Here's their website: http://www.langhornedebtsolutions.com 2- Oak View Law - They don't have any upfront fee's, you determine how much you can pay each month and they take a little out for their fee (till it reaches $500), then it's 20% of the amount agreed upon per debt. 12 mths payback Here's their site www.oakviewlaw.com

- Neither, to be honest. You don't really NEED a debt consolidation place to get out of debt, if you're willing to be persistent with your current creditor (the payday loan place). These debt consolidation places just cut a deal for you, and take a percentage of that deal. For example, Langhorne might talk with your creditor and agree that you will pay back 80% of your original debt. Then tell then you that you need to only pay 85% of your original debt. Guess who keeps that extra 5% just for having a conversation? It's possible you can reduce your debt without depending on the help of these companies. You can definitely at least work out a payment schedule. If you can afford to let Langhorne take $289 out of your account each month, then you can afford to take $250 our of your account, and pay off your debt within a year. Talk with the payday loan company directly, and offer to set up automatic payments from your paycheck or checking account if they will drop the interest charges and reduce the debt by 20% (bargain down from there, but fight hard to have the ongoing interest dropped so that you don't have to pay more than you currently own). I assure you, if you're determined and have willpower, you CAN do this yourself. Check out some personal finance books at your local library to inspire you to get a handle on your finances and create a workable budget. David bach and Suze Orman are great authors to try.
- I just contacted Langhorn on yesterday and I have the same question. I want to make sure they are going to be able to help me help myself before I sign up.
