Debt Elimination Companies

What would be some solutions for countries in debt?

I am doing an oratory speech on countries in debt and i need some help with the solutions and any other information would be helpful as well:)

Public Comments

1. Control their spending. The same as if a person was in debt.
2. Erect very high Tariff Barriers to curtail all Imports. Subsidize Exporters to boost Exports. Control ALL Foreign Currency Transactions. Forbid citizens from travelling abroad. Focus all Industrial Activity to producing goods that are in high demand abroad.
3. Write off the debt. How can they recover from economic stagnation if they are unable to even service the debt?
